UMBC Students taking part in the Physics Dept Intership Program this year presented their work in a poster session held in the Physics Department on 2005 Aug 05. Students worked in a variety of fields covering some of the research underway within both the Physics Dept at UMBC, and the affliated centers, namely CASPR, & the two centers associated with NASA/GSFC (the JCA & JCET).

Both Undergraduates and Graduate students from UMBC and elsewhere were awarded internships this year, and worked on projects in Astrophysics, Atmospheric Physics and Condensed Matter & Materials.

The poster session was attended by many members of the Physics Dept along with many of the student's mentors.

The following students presented their research:
Abler, Andrea
Dorrill, Ryan
Condensed Matter & Materials
Testing the Behavior of Nonlinear Optical Polymers
Francis, Shawnta Atmospheric Physics
Handling the AERONET Data
Hand, Lauren Atmospheric Physics
Assessment of Precipitation Variability and Possible Linkages to Urban Land-Use Change
